Julie Clewett
15.04.1949 – 20.04.2019
Julie Clewett died on Saturday 20th April. The ultimate cause was Sepsis, resulting from an infected surgical wound following an operation on her spine. The underlying issue was discovered to be secondary bone cancer – so in a way, the Sepsis saved Julie from a very painful and distressing last few months of a shortened life.
Julie was born in Meriden and grew up in Coventry. After leaving school she worked in the Architects Department at Coventry City Council where she met Tony. They married in June 1970 and moved to Nether Heyford in July 1977. Julie was very well-known in the village and was an active member of the community here, having been ‘Little Owl’ at Brownies for over 20 years, a member of the Village Hall Management and Fete committees, the Picturedrome Committee and a keen member of the Crafty Club, Pilates Club, Heyford Amblers and Heyford Garden Club. Anyone who met Julie will know how she was always cheerful and friendly and had a wonderful sense of humour. What is difficult to believe is just how quickly someone who was outwardly healthy, fit and active was brought down within just two months of being seen for a ‘bad back’.
She will be very much missed as ‘Mum’ to Ian, Chris and Becky, ‘Grandma’ to Olivia, Felix, Ellie, Erin, Owen and little baby Harriet and wife and best friend to Tony. As her close friend said, “they won’t make another one like Julie”. RIP
